Setting goals is a proven way to get more done. Personally, I have been setting myself goals on a regular basis for about the last 5 years. However, I don’t always reach them! One thing that really increases my chances of reaching my goals is to promise myself a reward when I do reach them. It can be hard to think of satisfying ways to reward yourself for reaching a goal, so that’s where this blog post comes in. I am going to be sharing 8 reward ideas to treat yourself when you reach a goal!

Why reward yourself for reaching a goal?

Rewarding yourself will…

  • Motivate you to work towards that goal
  • Make you more likely to complete your goal
  • Give you a well-deserved pleasure or break after you complete it
  • Make you feel good about yourself
  • Inspire you to set more goals so you can reward yourself again!

8 Satisfying Ways To Reward Yourself for Reaching a Goal

1. Buy yourself a piece of jewellery

Buying yourself something nice is a great way to reward yourself. However, if you buy yourself an item every time you reach a goal, your home may end up cluttered! Jewellery is a good compromise because it is small and won’t take up much space. Besides, there are not many things more satisfying than buying yourself a new, pretty piece of jewellery! This brings me to my featured company for this post: JoyAmo Jewellery.

Who are JoyAmo Jewellery?

JoyAmo is a jewellery company that produces fashionable, handcrafted jewellery. They use high-quality materials including sterling silver, gold plating, Swarovski zirconia crystals and coloured gemstones. They specialise in personalised jewellery so you can have a unique piece of jewellery with a special meaning for you.

I was kindly gifted this gorgeous Signature Name Necklace from Joyamo. I love that this necklace is personalised with my name. The font looks so pretty and elegant! This necklace comes in sterling silver, gold plated or rose gold plated, and various different chain lengths. I opted for the gold plated with the 45cm (average) chain length. I am a fan of gold jewellery and I think it looks beautiful! This necklace goes so well with a casual look as well as a more dressed-up look, so I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of it.

Buying personalised jewellery is a great way to celebrate yourself and your achievements. Of course, it also makes a great gift for others. I was also kindly gifted these beautiful Zirconia Earrings. Look how sparkly they are! I don’t have my ears pierced so I will be giving these as a gift to someone who does. Earrings are another lovely treat you could buy yourself when you reach a goal because they won’t take up too much space.

Overall, I am so impressed with the quality of my new JoyAmo custom name necklace and jewellery. The necklace is definitely going to be a staple with all my outfits this year!

2. Buy your favourite edible treats

The second way to reward yourself for reaching a goal is to buy your favourite edible treats. If you are a bit of a foodie like I am, food will probably be a great motivation for you to reach your goal. Promise yourself your favourite chocolate, savoury snack or takeaway as a reward when you get there. Your favourite foods are a reward you will never get bored of, so you can give yourself this reward again and again for every goal you reach!

3. Go out for a meal

Similarly to buying your favourite treats, you could also go out for a meal at your favourite restaurant to reward yourself for reaching a goal. This is a great reward especially for bigger goals because you can take your friends or family with you and make it into a celebration. Why not get dressed up for the occasion and treat yourself to some jewellery from JoyAmo to accessorise your outfit?

4. Take a day trip or weekend away

Do you have a favourite place that you love to go to? Whether it’s local or far away, planning a trip is a great motivation to help you reach a goal. A trip makes a great reward because it gives you a break from all your work and allows you just to relax and have fun.

5. Watch a favourite film (or one you’ve been wanting to see)

Watching a film is a great form of escapism that will take you into another world. It’s the perfect reward for working hard and reaching a goal! Even better, you could go to the cinema to get the full immersive experience. This can be a great social occasion too if you take family or friends and could be combined with a meal out.

6. Have a long sleep

If you’ve been working hard on a goal, chances are you will be tired and possibly sleep-deprived. One way to reward yourself is by having an early night and a lie in the next morning, to get as much sleep as possible. This reward is satisfying but also productive because a good night’s sleep will help you to feel refreshed and ready to start work on your next goal.

7. Play video games

I love old-school PC games like The Sims (I never graduated from The Sims 2!) and Theme Hospital, but I rarely get time to play them these days. Whether you are a fan of old video games or new, setting aside a block of time to play video games is a great way to reward yourself for reaching a goal.

8. Have a bath

A bath is such a relaxing activity, but one that I rarely make time for. Soaking in a long, hot bath with your favourite bath bomb or bath salts is a great reward to help you relax after reaching a goal, especially if you rarely have time for a bath.

How do you reward yourself for reaching a goal?

Are you a goal-setter, and do you usually reward yourself when you reach a goal? Do you normally buy yourself something nice, treat yourself to food or a trip, or something else entirely? Let me know in the comments below.
