Things can eventually get us down but life is full of surprises. If you think life can be different and you can live an amazing life, you are right. In fact, you have everything you need right now to live an amazing life.  All that is missing is the right mindset, attitude and inspiration to go about achieving it.

This article is dedicated to helping you live a more fulfilled life. You’re going to learn to appreciate all the things you have and master the life you decided to be. Are you ready? Let’s get started.

How To Live An Amazing Life

How To Live an Amazing Life

1. Appreciate the things you have right now

There is value in having gratitude for everything. When you learn to appreciate the things you have right now, you are on your way to achieving happiness. And the good news is that harnessing the power of gratitude is easy. You just have to have insights into how it works and the commitment to practice it consistently.

The easiest way to start is to keep a gratitude journal. List all the things you love and have right now and you will find appreciation in your heart. Next is to express yourself. You can increase your gratitude by expressing it to people you love. Try writing a letter or calling the people you appreciate. It will increase your happiness.

2. Start with simple things

There is no doubt you’ve heard the American proverb, “From small beginnings come great things”. It’s true. Getting the very most out of life starts with simple things. To have an amazing life, we have to start with small changes like getting enough sleep, going out in the sun, taking vitamin supplements, or going out for a walk.

Later changes go to more profound matters such as learning to meditate, surrounding yourself with the right people, doing the things you love, and finding your passion. You need to start small to build up the energy you want and great things follow.

3. Set your priorities

What are your priorities? The first thing you need to do if you want to live an amazing life is to reassess your priorities. Often, people complain that they aren’t healthy enough, happy, or rich but they actually never give these aspects their priority.

Don’t go tell people you want to be a successful author if you don’t spend most of your time writing. Because your goals, priorities, and lifestyle should align with each other. You claim your goals are top of your priorities and they don’t reflect your lifestyle in the slightest.

If you want to be a successful writer, writing should be your top priority and reflect that in your routine. Practice writing every day. If anything comes up, you should still prioritize writing. So, set your priorities and pour your 90% effort into them.

4. Know your worth

Choosing to design your own lifestyle and taking back control of your life is one way to start living an amazing life. The other way is to know your worth. Knowing your self-worth and standing up for what you deserve is underrated, especially for women.

But I truly believe that we should value ourselves more. No one is ever going to value us more than we value ourselves. We doubt ourselves more often, whether in our abilities, work, or relationships. But if you want to live an amazing life, you need to work more on boosting your self-worth.

A great example I can give is when people get a pay raise. Here in Japan where I live, self-worth is so much underrated. Time and money are interchangeable but they don’t realize that. This means that a pay raise is counted as pay raise only when you get paid more for working the same hours.

A lot of people here get paid more but they also have to work longer hours. If you are offered a higher position but you have to work longer hours, this is where knowing self-worth comes in. If you are a good employee, you should always get what you deserve.

5. Pursue your passion

Passion is energy and that energy is what you need to live a fulfilled life. A lot of people regret life because they did not pursue their passion. It doesn’t need to happen to you.

A lot of people grow old thinking that it would have been better if they looked after their health. If they had spent more time with their loved ones. If they had pursued their passion and chased their dreams. Your passion is not worth sacrificing. Don’t grow old and hear from your intuition, “I told you so”.

Pursuing your passion is fulfilling and leads to an amazing life.

Where do you start?

You may have heard the saying “You don’t live to work, but you work to live”. Cliché as it may sound, if you actually follow the advice, you will find yourself akin to ‘lifestyle design’. This is where it starts.

Lifestyle design is all about focusing on building a lifestyle that you actually love and not based on society’s standards. Deciding what you want to accomplish, who you want to be, and then changing some things to fit around that lifestyle is the best thing you can do.

For me, teaching has always been my passion. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher since I was a kid. I was also influenced by my family since we are a family of teachers. I pursued teaching English in a foreign country. Now, blogging is something I just discovered a year ago. I also love writing and I will keep practising it.

Remember, your passion is decided by you, not your parents or your teachers.

Over to you!

Hopefully, these tips will help you get more out of this life. By starting to change your priorities and going after what you love, life gets better. Start with what you have. This is a reminder that you have everything you need to live a truly incredible life. Or better yet, you already have an amazing life. You just don’t realize or appreciate it.

Start now. Do it now. Learn to focus and appreciate what you already have in your life. Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses, and practice the ‘gratitude mindset’. You probably have accomplished a lot already and that is amazing about life. You probably have so many happy moments in your daily life. I say, live those moments.

Ultimately, a lot of people take the most obvious route through life. But things should be different. You don’t need to follow the predetermined path that has been set out by society. It’s your life. Live it the way you want it to be.
