Blogtober Day 3 – Reading ‘Harry Potter’

I was a big fan of Harry Potter as a child and teenager. I remember waiting excitedly for each new book to come out, and wanting to be the first to read it! When the films came out, I watched nearly all of them at the cinema.

Since the last film came out in 2011, I actually haven’t re-read any of the books or watched any of the films again. Lately, I’ve been feeling an urge to read Harry Potter again, and I’ve decided that Blogtober would be the perfect time to do it! Although Harry Potter is not strictly an Autumn or Halloween themed series, there is something about witches, wizards and magic that is well suited to this time of year. I think it will really get me in the mood for Halloween.

Paperback copies of Harry Potter books 1 and 2

I have actually already finished reading the first book (The Philosopher’s Stone) because I started that one earlier in the summer. But yesterday I made a start on the second book (The Chamber of Secrets). I hope to do a bit of reading every day if I have time. I very much doubt I will read the entire series during October because the later books are very long! But I will see how many I can get through. I would like to complete books 2 and 3 at least.

Are you a Harry Potter fan?

If so, have you read the books or watched the films recently? Do you have a favourite Harry Potter book?

What book are you reading at the moment? Is it related to the Autumn / Halloween season? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve read most of them, but I really want to start over and read the whole series. 🙂
