Nowadays, I choose my next book to read by picking it out of my ‘to be read’ jar. I am working my way through a separate jar that contains only the physical books I currently own. Remember Me was the latest one I picked out.

I was happy when I picked this book because I have always enjoyed Sophie Kinsella’s books in the past. I knew it was bound to be good, and I was not disappointed!

What is Remember Me about?

The story is about a young woman called Lexi who wakes up in a hospital after suffering an accident. It turns out she has amnesia from her head injury and she can’t remember anything that happened in the past 3 years. Her life has completely changed and is seemingly now perfect, but she can’t make any sense of how or why her life changed so dramatically in such a short time. Gradually, the story unravels and the truth is revealed.

Did I like this book?

I loved this book! It was so much fun to read, and full of hilarious moments. Sophie Kinsella is one of the best chick-flick authors for injecting humour into her books and making me actually laugh. However, it wasn’t all comedy – there were some heart-wrenching moments too.

I loved the main characters and the thrilling chemistry of the romance (which I won’t go into detail about because, spoilers!)

I thought the concept of the story was really good. I liked how everything became clearer and clearer as the story progressed. Bits of information were gradually revealed until it all made sense. It fascinated me that retrograde amnesia is a real condition, so even though this story feels fantastical, it is something that could actually happen in real life.

I sped through this book in only 4 days, which is quick for me. Despite it being a chunky hardback, it is not actually as long as it looks because the pages are quite thick. Part of the reason I got through it so fast though is that it was hard to put down!

I would love to know what happens after the story ends. But that’s true for nearly every book I read!

Would I recommend Remember Me?

Absolutely! I really enjoyed this book and it’s great for a light, entertaining read. It will get you hooked! Sophie Kinsella books are always good and I look forward to reading more of them.

I would rate this book 4 out of 5!
