What is the Mystery Blogger Award?
I had never heard of this award before, so it was a lovely surprise to be nominated for it! The award was created by Okoto Enigma and you can read about it on her blog. In short, this is how she describes it:
“Mystery Blogger Award” is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

3: I ‘oil pull’ for 20 minutes every morning (If you don’t know what oil pulling is, read here).
Questions from Kendra of Hearts and Houseshoes
1: What was the reason behind starting your blog?
For a long time, I have written down my ideas, thoughts and discoveries on paper. I realised that I had a lot of material to share with the world, and a blog would be a great way to get my ideas out there! I am also hoping to make a source of income out of blogging, which will help me towards achieving other goals in my life.
2: What’s your favourite hobby?
Does reading count as a hobby? I enjoy reading books of many different genres, both fiction and non-fiction. I want to actually make more time for reading though, because at the moment I am acquiring books faster than I read them!
3: As a child, what did you dream of doing when you grew up?
I wanted to own and run a boarding school where the kids all learnt by having fun, rather than serious lessons, and had an amazing time! (I wasn’t keen on school!)
4: If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would go back to Japan – I visited Tokyo in 2015 and had a great time, so I’d love to go back and see my friends who live there, and explore some other parts of Japan outside of the city.
5: And now, for my weird/funny question, what’s the worst line/lie you have ever heard?
Ah that’s a tough one! I’ve literally been thinking about this for about half an hour and can’t think of any! So I may have to come back to this one…
I have chosen my nominees based on Okoto Enigma’s description of the Mystery Blogger Award – these blogs are inspiring, motivating and fun, and their writers are clearly passionate about blogging!
Nominees – If you would like to take part, I look forward to reading your facts and your answers! But if any of you don’t wish to do a post like this, that is absolutely fine too. I’m just glad to give you the recognition that I feel you deserve! 🙂
My 5 questions for my nominees:
1: What’s your favourite topic to blog about?
2: What’s your favourite song, or piece of music? If you don’t have a favourite, it could just be one you have enjoyed listening to recently.
3: What is your favourite book, or a book you have enjoyed recently?
4: What is your favourite way to relax?
5: What is your favourite form of exercise?
I just remembered that I am supposed to include a weird / funny question, so here’s a bonus one:
6: Have you ever tried to cook or bake something, and it went completely wrong?
I look forward to reading your answers!
My best posts
Here are some posts that I am especially proud of – I hope you like them and find them useful!
Once again, thank you to Kendra from Hearts and Houseshoes for nominating me for this award!
I got nominated again!
In September 2019, I was nominated again for this award, this time by Naomi from Inching Forwards. I’m a big fan of Naomi’s blog, she writes about a wide variety of topics but she puts a unique spin on each of them. She makes you think about different aspects related to a topic, that you wouldn’t normally consider. Her personality really shines through her writing, which is fantastic.
Thank you Naomi for the nomination!
Naomi asked the following questions to her nominees, which I will answer here:
1. How are you today?
My mood today is quite calm and serene. It’s a quiet, cloudy day and I’ve been inside listening to the occasional rain showers whilst working on my blog with a cup of tea and a scented candle. There are not too many thoughts buzzing round my head, which is a good thing.
2. If you could design your own creature and keep it as a pet, what would it be like? (You cannot pick a real animal.)
It’s really hard to come up with a unique animal, because I think it’s hard to improve on my favourite animal – a cat! But I’ll try and be creative here…
My creature would be a large round sphere, covered in fur, with a cute face on one side. It would move by rolling along, but it would also have retractable legs that can come out when it wants to move faster or climb. It would be super affectionate and friendly, and would never harm a human or another animal in any way. The creature would be very intelligent and able to safely wander outside without getting itself into danger. It would have the ability to convert any kind of trash into food for itself, so it would be very easy to feed and nothing would be wasted! It would change colour according to its mood, so you would always know how it is feeling, and what it needs.
3. What have you done this week that made you feel good about yourself?
I kept a positive attitude in certain situations that I would usually be negative about, and because of that they went much better than expected.
I also went for a lot of long walks which made me feel good about my physical health.
4. What kind of music are you into at the moment?
I had a trip to Scotland the other week and that has got me into the mood for listening to Scottish folk music – I find it very atmospheric!
5. Where do you feel most happy and calm?
At home, or chilling in a restaurant or teashop with someone I feel relaxed with. Or in the woods.
