How to Write Original Blog Posts

In order to write original, unique blog posts, you don’t have to come up with a topic that nobody has thought of or written about before. You can write about any topic and it can be original! Here are some tips to help you write original blog posts.

Use your own words

If you think your chosen topic will have been written about many times before, that doesn’t matter.  The main advice I would give you is: don’t look up other people’s blog posts! If you read them, they are likely to influence the way you word yours, even if only subconsciously. The key is to write about the topic using your own words. Then, it is guaranteed to be unique, rather than a mash-up of other posts you have read.

Share your personal experiences

You may still be sharing the same information as other people, even if the wording is different. But you can make your blog post even more unique by sharing your own personal experiences related to that topic. Most people enjoy reading stories, and by sharing your stories you are giving readers a deeper insight into the topic by writing about it from one unique perspective – yours. It also brings information and ideas to life and makes them more relatable. It gives you the opportunity to demonstrate any points you make with real-life examples.

Take your own photos

Finally, if you add photos into your blog post, I would recommend taking your own photos, rather than finding relevant stock photos online. This adds another element of uniqueness!
